An open-frame display is a screen supplied without a finished casing, designed to be built into something else: a kiosk, a counter, a vending or gaming machine, a piece of shop furniture or an outdoor enclosure. You get the display; your fabricator or integrator provides the surround.
Two families cover different jobs. Open-Frame Touch Monitors (view the range) are listed from 10.4 to 55 inch, with 18.5, 21.5 and 23.6 inch noted as popular sizes, in a metal shell with a 3 mm glass front, with infrared or capacitive touch available, in white, black or a custom finish. High-Brightness Open-Frame Modules (view the range) are listed at 32, 43, 55 and 65 inch, at 2,000 to 2,500 nits with an automatic brightness sensor, built-in fan cooling, a built-in power board and an aluminium backplate, with Android, Windows or Linux configurations.
The high-brightness module is designed for integration into a weatherproof enclosure. It is a component, never a weatherproof display by itself. For both families, the finished assembly is the integrator's responsibility, and the software that runs on the screen is a separate matter: bespoke kiosk software for interactive machines, or digital signage content management for advertising.

- Step 1
Touch monitor or high-brightness module
The touch monitor is an indoor component in many sizes, from 10.4 to 55 inch, for equipment people use at arm's length. A brightness figure is not stated for it. The high-brightness module comes in four larger sizes at 2,000 to 2,500 nits, for signage that has to be read in daylight from inside an enclosure.

A module is not a weatherproof display
The high-brightness module supplies the bright panel, fan cooling and power board. It does not supply sealing, weather protection, impact protection or a rating of any kind. Outdoor ratings belong to finished outdoor displays, confirmed per model, and must not be assumed for a bare module.

Infrared or capacitive touch
Both are listed as available for the touch monitors. Capacitive touch responds to fingers on a flush glass front, like a phone or tablet. Infrared touch senses across the surface from sensors at the edge of the screen. Which suits your design depends on the front glass, the surround and how the equipment will be used, and is confirmed with your quotation.

What your enclosure has to provide
An open-frame display relies on the enclosure for fixing, ventilation, protection from knocks and spills, safe electrical installation and access for servicing. The module has its own cooling fans, but the enclosure still has to let that air move. Those design decisions rest with the integrator.

Sizes, outlines and interfaces
Screen sizes are listed, but an integrator needs more: outline dimensions, mounting points, cut-out sizes, connector positions and power requirements. These are confirmed for the selected size with your quotation, so that your design work starts from verified figures.

What is an open-frame display?
It is a display supplied without a finished outer casing, with a metal frame or backplate and mounting points so it can be built into other equipment. The enclosure around it provides the appearance, the protection and the fixing. It is a component for integrators and fabricators, not a product to hang on a wall as it is.
Can the high-brightness module be used outdoors as it is?
