Kiosk Craft Lift Advertising Screen

Family reference Ref KC-D08

White slim portrait lift advertising screen with a plain lower panel below the display
Example design and example on-screen content shown

A lift is one of the few places where people stand still with nothing to look at. These slim screens turn that short journey into useful space for building notices, tenant promotions or paid advertising, with a logo panel that carries your brand beneath the picture.

Overview

About this range

Lift advertising works because the audience is close, unhurried and facing the wall. For a building manager that means notices which actually get read; for a hotel or shopping centre it means promoting what is on the next floor; for a media owner it is a network of screens with a predictable audience.

The range is deliberately compact. Single-screen units are listed in 18.5 and 21.5 inch, and combined-screen units pair a main screen with a smaller second screen in one shell: 18.5 + 10.1, 21.5 + 19 and 27 + 24 inch. The catalogue describes a slim design with a 25 mm thickness claim, which we treat as subject to configuration, a black or white metal shell, and portrait or landscape styles.

Below the screen is a plain panel that can be printed with a logo, so the unit looks like part of the building rather than a television on a wall. On a combined-screen unit the second screen is typically used for something that stays put, for example a floor directory or a sponsor message, while films and promotions rotate above it.

Playback is by USB or from an Android configuration, and the units are described as playing video, pictures and subtitles. USB is simple but means visiting each lift to change content. For a group of lifts or buildings we can scope digital signage content management instead. In a lift car the practical question is the network connection, so we settle that with you before recommending a platform.

Installation considerations

Planning the installation

  1. Any work inside a lift car must be agreed with the building owner and the lift maintenance contractor, who advise on permitted fixings, added weight and taking the lift out of service during the work.

  2. Power is normally taken from the lift car supply, and that connection is arranged with your lift contractor. Supply requirements for the screen are confirmed with your quotation.

  3. A lift car is a metal enclosure, so wireless signal can be weak. Decide early whether content will be updated by USB or over a network connection that has been tested inside the car.

  4. Position the screen clear of the control panel, emergency signage, handrails and mirrors, at a height that stays visible when the car is full.

  5. Lobby and corridor positions are simpler: a sound wall fixing, a power point and, for managed content, a network connection.

  6. Survey, fixing and commissioning can be arranged through our [installation and rollout service](/services/installation-rollout), quoted separately from the hardware.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about lift advertising screens

Is the screen really only 25 mm deep?

That is the figure the catalogue gives for the slim design, and we treat it as subject to configuration. Depth can differ between single and combined units, between sizes and between USB and Android builds, and the fixing adds to it. Because depth matters in a lift car, we confirm the figure for your configuration, including the fixing, with your quotation.

Can the two screens on a combined unit show different content?

The pictured units show a film or advert on the main screen and different content on the smaller screen. The source does not explain how the second screen is driven, so we confirm for your configuration whether each screen plays its own content and how both are updated.

How is content updated when the screen is inside a lift?

There are two routes. USB playback is simple and needs no network, but someone must visit each lift to change the content. An Android configuration can be managed remotely through content management that we scope for you, provided there is a dependable network connection in the car. We agree the approach with you first, because signal inside a lift is often the deciding factor.

Who installs a screen inside a lift car?

Installation has to be coordinated with your lift maintenance contractor, who controls what may be fixed inside the car and how power is provided. We can plan and manage the work with them through our installation and rollout service. What is included is set out in your quotation.

Can our logo be printed on the unit?

Yes. The panel at the bottom of the unit is described as a logo print area. Artwork can be prepared through our design and branding service, and the print method and artwork requirements are set out in your quotation.

Can these screens be used outside lifts?

They suit any indoor wall where a small, slim screen is wanted, such as lift lobbies, corridors and reception areas. If you need a larger screen, our wall-mounted advertising displays cover a much wider size range.
