Overview

About this range

The Kiosk Craft Full-Screen Digital Poster is a tall freestanding display in which the screen fills nearly the whole front face, rather than sitting above a blank lower panel as it does on a conventional totem. The range is listed in five sizes — 64.2, 65, 68.2, 69.3 and 80 inch — with a metal housing, an aluminium frame, tempered glass and a stated brightness of 400 nits.

The screen format is not a standard one. The range is listed at 3840 × 1350 or 3840 × 1440 pixels depending on the model, which in portrait gives a noticeably taller, narrower picture than a 16:9 screen. Which size uses which resolution is confirmed with your quotation. It matters for artwork: content should be produced to the exact pixel format, because standard 16:9 material will not fill the screen without cropping or borders.

Two ways of using the poster are described. Several posters can stand side by side and show one coordinated image across all of them, with the frames visible between the screens. A single poster can also be split into zones, for example a film above and offers below. Both depend on the player and software configuration, which we confirm for your project.

The range is listed with an Android configuration and an HDMI input for an external source — the supported platform version is confirmed with your quotation. Touch is available as an option. Scheduling and multi-screen content can be scoped through digital signage content management; no content or control software is included with the hardware, and hardware and software are quoted separately.

Installation considerations

Planning the installation

  1. The poster stands on a level indoor floor near a mains socket. Plan the cable route so that it does not cross a walkway.

  2. These are large, tall units. Check delivery routes, door heights and lift sizes before choosing a size.

  3. For a side-by-side group, the floor needs to be flat along the whole run so that the screens line up. We confirm how adjacent posters are aligned.

  4. At 400 nits the poster is an indoor display. Keep it away from direct sunlight and sunlit windows.

  5. In busy public areas, consider how a tall freestanding unit is stabilised or secured. We confirm the options with your quotation.

  6. Getting tall units into the building, standing them up and lining up a group is covered under installation and rollout, and your quotation sets out what is included.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about full-screen digital posters

What does full-screen mean here?

On a conventional totem the screen sits in the upper part of the body, with a blank panel below it. On this range the screen runs almost the full height of the unit above a low foot plate, so nearly everything the viewer sees is picture. That is why the screens use tall, non-standard pixel formats.

Can we use our existing 16:9 artwork?

Not without changes. The range is listed at 3840 × 1350 or 3840 × 1440 pixels, which in portrait is taller and narrower than a 16:9 screen. Standard artwork would be cropped or shown with borders. We confirm the exact pixel format for the size you choose so that content can be produced to fit, and content design can be scoped as part of the project.

Can several posters show one image?

The catalogue describes it, and one figure shows three posters carrying a single landscape picture. The frames between the screens stay visible, as they do on a video wall. How the posters are synchronised depends on the player and software configuration, which we confirm for your project before quoting.

How is content updated?

The range is listed with an Android configuration and an HDMI input, so content can play on the poster itself or come from an external player. No content or control software is included with the hardware. Scheduling across one or many posters can be scoped through digital signage content management.

Is it bright enough for a shop window?

No. At a stated 400 nits the poster is made for interiors such as foyers, malls and concourses, and it would look pale behind sunlit glass. The high-brightness shop window displays are the range for that job, although they use standard screen formats rather than this tall one.

Is a touchscreen available?

Yes, touch is available as an option, and the technology is confirmed for the selected size. As with any touchscreen, it needs an application behind it, which is scoped and quoted separately.
